ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Cat Watercolor Workshop
Instructor: Mika Furuya
This workshop invites participants to color a cat illustration specially created for this workshop by artist Mika Furuya. Through Mika’s artistic perspective, the workshop encourages attention to subtle sensations and a quiet awareness of everyday life.
Participants will be guided to slow down and engage with the act of coloring—exploring focus, layering of colors, and different approaches to mark-making.
The workshop also creates a space for gentle exchange, where participants can share impressions and thoughts as they work, allowing natural conversation to emerge.
Usagi NY will serve herbal tea during the session, offering a multisensory experience through taste and aroma. The workshop is designed as an open environment where art, perception, and communication softly intersect.
Materials for the workshop are generously supported by Rikagaku Industry Co., Ltd., featuring Kitpas—an eco-friendly drawing material made from rice bran wax. Kitpas can be used on surfaces such as glass and mirrors.
