We are pleased to present our group exhibition, The Many Lives of Cats & Companions, featuring twenty-two artists from DUMBO and beyond, working across painting, photography, sculpture, and other media.
Throughout art history, cats have been depicted as multifaceted symbols—at times enigmatic, at others beloved companions—taking on different meanings depending on the artist and historical context.
Through the motif of cats, this exhibition seeks to reconsider contemporary society and engage with its complexities from multiple perspectives. Moving across layers of observation, intimacy, and imagination, the participating artists explore how cats exist within, and move across, the realms of human experience.
We are also pleased to present two related events:
Meet the Artist on April 4 from 2:00–3:00 PM, and a Cat Coloring Workshop on April 5 from 2:00–3:30 PM.
